Fr Mark Baumgarten is a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Perth, Australia. A self-taught pianist, he worked as a musician prior to entering seminary, and the lockdown of 2020 inspired a return to songwriting. His debut album, Now and Not Yet, could be seen a kind of musical autobiography, with songs that trace his path from youthful searching to a priestly vocation. His follow-up album, The Little Ones, is out now.

Fr Mark’s songs aren’t “church music” (and they certainly aren't intended for use in the liturgy). They simply aim to be the kind of music he likes to listen to – well-crafted songs that touch on deeper themes – and they cover a variety of genres including blues, ballads, gospel, rock and pop.
